A Destination Wedding is defined as marrying at least 100 miles from where the bride currently lives. So imagine the options that definition opens up for you — the world really is your playground. Have you envisioned your wedding to take place in a different state or country?
Getting married at a destination, not near your home can be a bit tricky, but don’t worry. We are here to help make the process simple and easy. Just how to have a Destination Wedding?
Here are a few tips and tricks to make your special day memorable.
*We suggest you choose a meaningful destination.
*Notify guests well in advance
*Don’t set your date until you’re sure there’s room availability for everyone.
*Visit in advance and multiple times if needed.
*Tailor your wedding dress to the destination.
*Breathable fabrics work best in hot, humid locations. Lightweight lace in Mexico is stunning, as is an embellished ball gown at a villa in France.
*Stuff that suitcase.
I’ve yet to find a destination outside the continental U.S. that has the same quality and selection of rental linens. Shipping overseas is risky and expensive, so I always pack as much as possible into checked luggage. brides.com
In addition to great locations, an advantage of destination weddings is that they are typically less expensive for the couple, since the couple pays for their accommodations, travel costs and the venue charges. Guests are expected to pay for their own accommodations and travel costs. However, couples can elect to pay for the accommodations of their guests and even cover the travel costs. It all depends on their wedding budget. *bridebox.com
What is your dream wedding destination? We often find right here in the Phoenix area, we have destination weddings. Quite frequently we find that couples would love to have their wedding with a Southwestern feel, and Arizona provides just that. Here are a few great destination spots, The Paseo, Gold Canyon Golf Resort, and Views at Superstition. All three of these venues offer all inclusive packages, which include our Sue Jacobs Cakes wedding cakes and/or desserts! Photo credit to Brian Minson Weddings. Location, The Paseo.
